Hi!

I'm starting this blog in hopes that it will help people who are interested in careers in the video game industry get their start.

I've been in HR and Recruiting for 10 years, specifically in video games for 7. I get tons of questions from people about how to get into the game industry. It's difficult to answer so many questions and emails individually, and unfortunately there don't seem to be a lot of resources available that are specific to this topic. So I thought, why don't I try to create a place where people can come to get those types of questions answered? I hope to answer a lot of questions not only about the video game industry, but also about job hunting and interviewing in general.

Although my current employer is Respawn Entertainment, please note that what I post here is not on behalf of my employer and does not necessarily reflect that their views. You can find information about what Respawn looks for in candidates on their website. I'll try to keep things more general here.

Also, I don't claim to know everything and I can't possibly know what will work for everyone. I hope to help but I am not made of magic. Take what you read here as another piece of information or point of view to add to your own knowledge, experiences, and research.
